About Spider Solitaire

Spider Solitaire is the much-loved two-deck patience game made famous on office computers. One hundred and four cards are spread over ten columns. Your goal is to arrange each suit in a full run from King down to Ace inside the columns; the moment a run is complete it lifts off the table. Clear all eight runs to win.

Start with one suit to learn the flow, then try two suits, and finally the classic four-suit challenge that only patient planners can crack. Drag cards or simply tap them to send them to the best column, deal a fresh row when you are stuck, and use unlimited undo and hints to explore every idea.

How to play

  1. Place a card on any card exactly one rank higher (a 6 on a 7).
  2. Only runs of the same suit can be moved together.
  3. A full King-to-Ace run of one suit is cleared automatically (+100). Win in fewer moves for a bigger bonus.
  4. Tap the deck to deal ten new cards. Every column must have a card first.

About Spider Solitaire

Spider Solitaire became famous when it was bundled with Windows in the late 1990s. Played with two decks, it rewards patience and careful planning more than any other everyday patience game.

Tips to score higher

  • Uncover face-down cards as early as possible; they hide your options.
  • An empty column is your most valuable tool. Use it to rearrange runs.
  • Prefer moves that build same-suit runs over mixed ones.
  • Before dealing a new row, make every useful move first.

Spider Solitaire FAQ
