About Ludo

Ludo is the family race game played all over the world and one of the most loved board games in the Arab world. Roll a six to bring a piece out, race it clockwise around the board and up your coloured lane into the centre. Land on a rival piece to send it back to its base, and use the star squares to stay safe.

Play the classic four-player game against three computer opponents, a head-to-head duel, a quick game with two pieces each, or a party game for up to four friends passing one phone or tablet. Sixes, captures and pieces reaching home all earn a bonus roll, and three sixes in a row lose your turn.

How to play

  1. Tap the dice to roll. You need a six to move a piece out of your base.
  2. Tap the bouncing piece you want to move. With only one choice it moves by itself.
  3. Land on a rival to send it home. Star squares and start squares are safe.
  4. You need the exact number to reach the centre. Get all your pieces home first to win.

About Ludo

Ludo grew out of Pachisi, the royal game of India, and was patented in England in 1896. It is the perfect family race game: simple to learn, full of laughter, and just tactical enough to reward good choices.

Tips to score higher

  • Use sixes to bring new tokens out early so you always have options.
  • Park on the star squares when a rival is close behind you; they are safe.
  • Capture whenever you can: sending a rival home costs them many turns.
  • Don't rush one token alone; a spread of tokens is harder to stop.
