About Dominoes

Dominoes is a game of matching numbers played with a double-six set of 28 tiles. Take turns laying a tile whose number matches one of the open ends of the line. The first player to play every tile shouts domino and scores the pips left in the other hand. If nobody can move, the hand with the fewest pips wins.

Choose Draw dominoes, where you take tiles from the pile when you are stuck, Block dominoes with no drawing, or All Fives, where every play that makes the open ends add up to a multiple of five scores straight away. Matches are played against the computer to 100 points.

How to play

  1. Tiles you can play are raised. Tap one to play it; if it fits both ends, tap the end you want.
  2. Stuck? In Draw mode tap the pile to take tiles until you can play.
  3. Empty your hand to score the pips left in the computer's hand.
  4. First to 100 points wins the match.

About Dominoes

European dominoes appeared in Italy in the 18th century and quickly spread around the world. Every tile shows two ends, and the whole game is about matching numbers and keeping the tiles your rival needs out of play.

Tips to score higher

  • Play your heavy tiles (high pips) early so they don't count against you.
  • Keep a variety of numbers in your hand so you can always follow.
  • Notice which numbers your rival passes on; they don't hold them.
  • In Fives, aim to make the open ends add up to a multiple of five.
