About Lunar Lander
Lunar Lander is a physics classic. Gravity pulls your landing module down, and you fight it with a single main engine you can rotate. Land level and slowly on one of the glowing pads: the smaller the pad, the bigger the multiplier. Watch your instruments, which turn green when your speed and angle are safe.
Every burn costs fuel. In Classic your fuel carries over between landings and soft landings earn a refill. Mars brings heavier gravity and gusting wind, and Precision gives you five missions with tiny pads and a fuel bonus.
How to play
- ← → rotate the lander, ↑ or Space fires the engine.
- Touch down with vertical speed under 32, horizontal under 20 and the lander level.
- Very soft landings score a Perfect bonus.
About Lunar Lander
Lunar Lander is based on one of the oldest video game ideas: land a spacecraft gently on a landing pad using limited fuel. Atari's 1979 arcade version made it famous.
Tips to score higher
- Kill your horizontal speed first, high above the surface, then deal with the descent.
- Use short engine bursts instead of a long burn; it saves fuel.
- Keep the lander level for the last few metres.
- On Mars, heavier gravity and wind mean you need to start braking earlier.
Lunar Lander FAQ
What counts as a safe landing?
Vertical speed under 32, horizontal speed under 20, and the lander level on the pad.
Does fuel carry over?
In Moon mode, yes: fuel left after a landing carries over to the next one.
